Richard and Jessica Burke

Richard Burke and his wife Jessica are the current Chi Alpha campus pastors at Georgia Southern University.

Richard grew up in Augusta, GA and graduated from Greenbrier High School in 2002. He went to college at the University of Georgia, where he gave his life to the Lord after a dramatic encounter with God in October 2002. Richard began serving the Lord thereafter, where he quickly realized he was called to full-time ministry. In Summer 2004, Richard felt the Lord call him to move to Statesboro, GA to attend Georgia Southern University to finish his schooling. Jessica Burke was raised in Mount Vernon, a small town in South Georgia. Jessica went through a time with the Lord where He radically called her to Himself in January 2004. She consecrated a 6-month “relationship fast” at this time to solely focus on God. At the conclusion of this fast in Summer 2004, the Lord called Jessica to move to Statesboro, GA to attend Georgia Southern University to finish her schooling.

Richard and Jessica met days after moving to Statesboro and after a year and a half were engaged. They were married on May 19th, 2007, and seven weeks later were pregnant. Jessica gave birth to Jericha Caydene Burke, a beautiful baby girl, on March 31st, 2008. Richard and Jessica are both passionate about campus ministry and are excited to reach out to the Georgia Southern campus through Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship.
